If you have been advised by the surgery to submit a contraceptive pill review please use this form.
Best practice would suggest we should review all Patients on hormonal contraception annually. This is to check your blood pressure, weight, discuss any problems with your contraception and remind you about the “pill rules” (what to do if you miss a pill, have diarrhoea or go on antibiotics).
We’re aware that your situation may not have changed and that you would like to continue on the same medication and you may feel an appointment isn’t necessary. Equally there is always pressure on our appointments. If you are happy with your medication, would like to continue it, are aware of the pill rules and aren’t having any problems with it, then for pragmatic reasons, we would be happy for you to send in a recent weight and do a blood pressure check on our Reception blood pressure machine (passing the results to the Receptionist to record on your notes) which can be done at either site, any time we are open. We can then authorize your prescription for another year.
Of course, if you have any concerns or would like to discuss your contraception, please make an appointment with one of our Nurses. If you are unhappy with your contraceptive pill we also do Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC),
this includes the IUCD (coil) Depot Provera injection and contraceptive implant.
